Product Introduction

The Double Column Vertical CNC Lathe is engineered for turning large-diameter, high-tonnage components requiring maximum stability and heavy cutting torque.

Mounting workpieces vertically on the rotary table allows their weight to be supported directly by the machine base, eliminating the deflection and sagging common in horizontal lathes. The dual-column frame supports the cross rail from both sides, forming a rigid box structure that minimizes vibration during high-depth roughing and precision finishing.

Key Advantages

Optimized Shop Footprint: Vertical arrangement saves horizontal floor space for large-diameter parts.
High Removal Rates: Rigid dual-column support allows aggressive cutting depths without chatter.
Single-Setup Efficiency: Complete ID, OD, facing, and grooving in one clamping setup to maintain geometric concentricity.
Heavy Thermal & Load Stability: Thermal-symmetric structure reduces heat deformation during extended shifts.

Industry Applications

Wind Power & Energy: Flange rings, slewing bearings, and generator hubs.
Oil & Gas: High-pressure valve bodies, blowout preventers, and piping flanges.
Power Generation: Gas/steam turbine housings, hydro turbine components, and pressure vessel heads.
Mining & Metallurgy: Crusher rings, mill rolls, and large gear blanks.
Heavy Industrial Equipment: Construction machinery slewing frames and railway wheel sets.

Double-Column Machine Structure

Double-Column Frame: High-grade cast iron, fully stress-relieved to maintain long-term alignment under heavy machining loads.
Elevating Cross Rail: Synchronized motor drive with hydraulic clamping locks, ensuring precise positioning along the columns.
Vertical Ram: Forged alloy steel ram with high cross-sectional rigidity, engineered for deep internal boring and extended tool reach.
Rotary Worktable: Features heavy-duty hydrostatic or precision combination bearings to sustain extreme radial and axial loads.
Machine Base: Reinforced foundation interface designed to efficiently transfer dynamic cutting forces to the shop floor.

CNC Tool Heads & Machining Capability

External Turning: Roughing and finishing of large outer diameters and steps.
Internal Boring: High-rigidity boring bar access for deep bearing seats, sleeves, and valve interiors.
Face Turning: Direct facing of large circular flanges, covers, and mating surfaces.
Grooving & Tapering: Precision contouring, O-ring grooving, and taper machining controlled via multi-axis CNC interpolation.
Single or Dual Ram Setup: Dual-ram options allow simultaneous roughing and finishing to shorten cycle times.

Typical Workpieces

Large Flanges: ID/OD turning, sealing face finishing, and ring grooving.
Bearing Housings: Multi-step internal boring, facing, and precision bearing seat machining.
Gear Rings & Blanks: Heavy outer diameter turning and rim facing.
Turbine & Energy Components: High-alloy disc, housing, and rotor machining.
Valve & Pump Bodies: Deep internal boring and mating flange surface facing.

FAQ

Q: Can the machine structure be customized to our specific part drawing?

A: Yes. Turning diameter, working height, table capacity, RAM travel, and CNC system are fully tailorable to your component specifications.

Q: What is the benefit of a dual-ram configuration over a single ram?

A: Dual rams enable simultaneous machining (e.g., inner boring and outer turning at once), reducing total cycle time by up to 40%.

Q: Do you provide international installation and local engineer training?

A: Yes. Our field engineers handle mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, laser alignment, and staff operational training on-site worldwide.

Q: What standard test documentation is provided before shipment?

A: You will receive a complete factory inspection report including geometric accuracy sheets, laser alignment charts, and test-piece inspection logs.
